I can hardly believe what's become of the Mathis Chronicles, and myself, since 1998. So much has happened in the last three years, but who among us is the same as we were back then. Thanks to Margaret, John, and Lynn over in Britain; James in South Africa; Lindaura and Paulo in Brazil, Michael in Hong Kong, Louise in Canada, and everybody else from all over the world including, of course, the States, for all your help and encouragement. Sometimes I feel like I'm spinning my wheels, but you guys make it a worthwhile effort.
I'm so grateful to everyone who comes to visit with me, to buy Johnny Mathis records and CDs or tickets to his shows, to support the radio stations that play his music, and to share their thoughts and experiences with all readers and not just me. In return, I am happy to share my thoughts, my record collection, and my art of Johnny Mathis, and my TIME in putting this all together! Together we're going to keep the music playing long after Mathis himself is gone. I'd like to welcome any newcomers to my currently-weekly project. We're all dressed up in pink for this week only, and this is my yearly Valentine to all my friends, friends to come, and anybody else who comes to visit. Thanks for coming and enjoy the Mathis Chronicles as it begins it's fourth year in cyberspace with more than 11,000 hits since this time last year! I hope you find something useful here. Changes have already begun on this newest incarnation of the Mathis Chronicles. Already I have begun to reorganize the Mathis Collection for ease of navigation. I'm considering introducing downloadable PDF files for my reviews of the individual albums. My gallery will be trimmed and reorganized as well. Hopefully, the producers' page will be finished soon, and maybe I'll get the Journey to San Francisco story back up before summer. I'm strongly leaning toward biweekly updates rather than weekly; also I'm going to be actively looking for a new home for the Mathis Chronicles, which means it may not be at this web address much longer. I'd like to send along a special shout-out to my buddy Sharon, who's going once again to the Valentine's Day show in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Also, to my buds Jon-Dan, Norma, and Paula, thanks for all you've done for me this past year. I have been very encouraged by the number of younger people, baby-boomers, genXers, who have attended their first Johnny Mathis concert and discovered for themselves his artistry. I'm so glad they like him! Let him show you how a performance should be done, and be amazed. I need not educate the older ones; they already know and accept that particular truth, and most of them understand my mission. God bless 'em everyone. |
